Events coming Up:
Got a hole in your
soul? Know your fate & fear no more…
ABBA Gold are
coming to Colyton 7th
June.
Is the history
book on the shelf always repeating itself? Well no, not this year
for Colyton Christmas Fayries in association with Seaton Tramway, as
they’re staging an outdoor concert-spectacular with headlining act
ABBA Gold + guests on June 7th and this definitely won’t
be their Waterloo! If you’re looking out for the place to go, then
Colyton is the place and will be transformed into a Summer
Night City, with soul-dancing in the dark, kisses of fire and
love-making in the Spar (does your mother know?) and when the night
comes with the action, everyone will know it’s time to go along to
Fair Field, by Umborne Bridge at 6pm, where they won’t be able to
resist the strange attraction (including a twenty piece Samba band),
because there will be something in the air that night. You see, with
a bit of rock music, everything is fine.

ABBA Gold are one
of the leading tribute bands in Europe and have performed together
for the past 11 years in 1,800 shows to over 1 million people. Their
largest show was with an audience of 93,000 people at a music
festival in Aberdeen in 2001 and now they’re coming to Colyton… So
you can dance, you can jive and have the time of your life for just
£10! Yes, take it easy, just £10 not so much money, money, money if
you’re in the mood for a dance, (and who can live without it?), you
won’t feel blue, watch the scene and maybe somewhere in the crowd
there’s you. There’ll be plenty of side-stalls serving food and
drink and there’ll also be a Swedish Tombola entitled: The Winner
Takes It All. Every penny of the funds raised through the concert
event will go to help good causes in and around Colyton; it helps
each and every one of us.
A spokesperson for
the Christmas Fayries recently commented for this paper on the
arrangements so far and said: “I’ve often wondered, how did it all
start because I’m nothing special, in fact I’m a bit of a bore. I
was sick and tired of everything and called the committee from
Glasgow to ask them to take a chance on me and get involved in this
event. Without a song or dance what are we, I said to them. When
they called back to ask me whether I would accept the job, I said:
Mamma mia, make your choice but believe me, I do, I do, I do, I do,
I do and I was head over heels, because I have a dream to be part of
a success that never ends and when all is said and done, if I had to
do the same again, I would, my friend, that’s the name of the game”.
The interview was
curtailed at this point as the spokesfayrie person had to receive
urgent medical intervention. They just kept going on and on and on…
Don’t forget, it’s
also Seaton Tramway’s Vintage Vehicle Rally Day on 7th
June at fair Field from 9am to 4pm, with a super trouper array of
cars and commercials together with auto jumble and interesting side
stalls.
